The Brothers Grimm* must have had a wild library.    

More than 200 years after its release the Children's and Household Tales has been watered down. The original stories were more of a historical record, packed with global takes on fantastical beasts, social customs, and morality. And of course the perils of defying those rituals or beliefs.

Roses etched expertly into glass. Fine metal work. Warmer golden shade. Clip adds extra grip to backings. 

Intaglio** is a form of design done in relief. It traces back to 5000 BC and was used for everything from signet rings of Roman generals to the cameos adorning the grande dames of old New York.

The etching is a marvel. Very good condition. Little to no signs of wear. Strong backings.  

A touch thorny. Attracted to beauty in all its forms. Knows to look carefully for what lies beneath.
