Vendome: Sputnik

Dear Vendome, I have questions. I’d also like to buy this designer a dry martini.

Far smaller than their orbiting namesake* these clip-ons are a strange and marvellous sight. Squinting reveals wee scuffs. After viewing many damaged pairs seeing this style in good condition is an honest delight.

Blend of rhinestones, crystals, and plastics give a bit of heft. Broad backings provide comfort and ample support. Passed the head shake test with flying colours. 

Tucked into a cotton-lined box to preserve absurd level of detail.

*Sputnik was the first artificial satellite. Roughly the size of a beach ball it was launched by the former (then) Soviet Union and kicked off the race to dominate space between (now) Russia and the United States.
