Sarah Coventry “Radiance” gold-plate* and rhinestone clip and brooch set in near mint condition.
Home fashion mogul Charles H. Stuart** entered the jewelry world in 1949, naming his NYC-based company for his granddaughter Sarah and his hometown Coventry, England.
Stuart chose to showcase his now iconic wares at people's homes and fashion shows – rather than pay for retail space – and collaborated with designers to manufacture each piece.
What earned the still highly collectable brand a bit of a cult following was the frequent use of gold-plate as well as the quality, size and complex cut of each stone.
After expanding to Canada, Australia, Belgium, and the UK, financial troubles saw the company snapped up by a Chicago firm in 1984, but in 2003 the owners took back control of production before closing shop in 2008.
Metal mark indicates this set was designed after 1953. Strong clips. Only sign of wear a single near imperceptible mark on the pin. Remarkable stones. Honestly some of the best I’ve seen.
Enjoys chatting commodities markets and crop prices. Particularly wheat. Prosperous by nature. Attracts compliments and abundance. In every form. Willing to share.
*The plate has not been tested by an expert but 100 per cent confident stating so after a deep dive into the history of this set.
